About Me:
I'm from the island of Guam. I've been in the coffee industry for the past 12 years. I started as a Barista at a Gloria Jean's and after a couple of years decided to venture into the independent coffee houses. I've helped a handful of independent shops open both on Guam and in Hawaii. I've sold Nuova Simonelli, Crem, and Astoria machines for wholesale companies. I currently manage a start-up coffee shop in Guam's tourist district.
About My Company:
I represent Cafe Angelino. We specialize in frappes from scratch, traditional european espresso beverages, and signature espresso and "regular" coffee drinks. Our shop offers a mix of Asian-American food, a variety of ice cream treats, chinese blooming teas, home-made chai, and coffee beverages exclusive to Cafe Angelino...until another barista comes in and decides he wants to sell the same thing the same way at his shop and call it the same thing... At Cafe Angelino we offer a little something for everyone's tastes.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
It's an industry that is constantly growing and changing. It fuses old traditions with new methods and philosophies; and challenges those of us who choose to stay in the industry to stay vigilant but flexible in our sub-cultures.

The partner who owns 51% of the business is paying me $1,536.30. I've obviously been shafted. At first, I was understanding about the whole deal because it IS a start-up and the…
