Hello BX!
I am currently a barista and roaster for a small coffee catering business in Portland, OR. I helped open the shop three years ago with two (amazing) partners, and we grew from a few small events to two full-time operating espresso stands. The business is now closing for personal reasons (not for a lack of sales!), and I am looking to stay in the business!
I began roasting for our shop in March of this year, and have developed, what I would consider, very competent skills on an old Probat L12. I am looking for any sort of a job that would keep me on the roasting side of the industry, be it assistant, or packaging and shipping, or maybe a new lead roaster. I am also fully competent on manual and semi-automatic espresso machines. Location is also quite flexible. Although I would love to stay in my new home of Portland, I am much more passionate about the coffee, and am willing to move for a new opportunity.
I can send a resume to those interested, but my relevant skill set is as follows:
-Pull shots on semi-automatic and manual espresso machines.
-Maintain and repair espresso machines, grinders, and brewers.
-Fully operate large gas-powered roasters.
-Manage the front end of cafes, interacting with customers and operating solo during busy shifts.
If you happen to know of opportunities I may find outside of Bx, please let me know! I love this industry and would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks,
Evan
