If the former, computer doo-doo occurs. If the later would be nice if a thread deemed too hot to handle that's being deleted had some kind of post/message stating as much. Had six notifications of new input for a thread yet thread can't be found. Second vanished "hot" thread I noticed today. Man I wanted to see the heat! Hell it's one of the ways to combat the daily stress:-)
