Picked up a used True TBB3 last week. The sucker had been sitting unused for a couple years and had been unplugged rather dirty. Opening a door wafted an aroma that let's just say a garbage dump on a hot summer day would have been preferable! Prior to making an offer I of course plugged it in and verified it would come down to proper temp. But man it was groadie inside! All the shelf clips looked beyond disgusting and I fully expected to have to replace them all.

Removed the shelves and clips and began the lovely process of cleaning and disinfecting the interior, just placed the clips in a plastic bucket figuring to toss 'em later. But wait - decided should at least try to save them. But attempt to clean with what? Simple green? Nah. Cafiza? Didn't think so. Bleach? Maybe, would kill the critters but what about the corrosion. Hmmm how 'bout fairly strong yet food safe acid bath, tossed in about 1/2 cup of citric acid and quart or so of off boil water and it immediately looked like Fizzies so hopeful! 'Bout half hour later came back and pulled one out - dang -  light brushing with small wire brush and rinse good to go. Sweet.
