I need to make a gelato case purchase, Now! if I'm to catch the end of year sales. I've narrowed my list down to 2 units. I've gotten several price quotes and the only thing I don't know is the reliability and maintainability of the units.

Which do think would be the better case?
Oscartielle Oscartielle 12 5lt pan Ventura XP, or
Sevel USA, Aspen Deluxe, 12 5lt pan
The Sevel USA Aspen Deluxe is a better price then all the Oscartelli quotes I've gotten (by $3345)

I need to know which is more reliable and a better piece of equipment. Anyone have any facts or info?
I want to close this deal tomorrow.

Hello Denise, I have two Ventura models, both a 12 and an 18 pan size. They have worked fairly well, some parts did go out under warranty, and for all of those we had to pay someone to get the machine fixed, and then were compensated for the costs, but that was just a matter of our refrigeration repair company does not do warranty work. They maintain consistent temperature, and require a weekly manual defrost for at least 12 - 16 hours to make sure that they will not ice up the cooling vents. at that price difference though, i cannot honestly say that you would not be better off going with the Sevel. I think we ended up with the Oscartielle because that was also sold by Aromi, our supplier of gelato ingredients. Feel free to ask other questions!
Thank you Travis your reply does demonstrate the reliability and maintainability of the Ventura models; are they double pane glass like the XP or are they L models?
These are the L models, the glass folds out for cleaning or maintenance, i did remember having issues with the original set of doors for the 12 pan model not being tall enough so instead of maintaining preassure against the lower rails, the doors just fell into the display anytime they were moved. messy!

We have purchased our case and expect delivery Feb 23rd. Thanks for the help!
I would call Tom Graves at equipment and concepts. www.equipmentandconcepts.com
