Hi!

I want a home espresso machine that can steam milk properly and is great to practice making

several drinks at a time on?

Thank you,

Kim

More info on this topic over at HomeBarista.com. Lots of advice there on home gear, if you are looking for more than what has been discussed around here recently.

"Can steam milk properly". Any decent prosumer espresso machine can steam milk for great texture, the difference is in steam time and tip needed for proper velocity, which equates to a huge difference in steaming technique needed versus a larger steam boiler (3+ Liter) commercial machine. A tyical prosumer machine ($1k+ class) has around a 1.5L boiler, and for instance will typically take 40 to 50 seconds to steam for a 12oz latte.

If you want to practice making several drinks at a time at the same pace and technique as a commercial machine you'll need at least a single group commercial machine class machine.

That said steaming skills that take 50 seconds compared to 15 seconds for the same amount of milk are to an extent loosely transferable. But most definitely very different.

Said based on using machines ranging from Miss Silvia (and lessor like Charbucks Saecos) to 4 group Lineas with HUGE steam boilers.
