Just stopped by the Espresso Parts website, and saw this... a new "precision" dispersion screen.
!?
Anybody seen, heard of, or played with this yet?
From the site:
"Precision, precision, precision. The feel and craftsmanship far out weighs what seems to be a very basic design in its traditional form. Thick gauge screen with engineered hole size and placement visually delivers more consistency in water flow from the group and eventually on the coffee puck surface. Even if you leave water running, there is a noticeably even dispersion of water in comparison to the traditional screen & screw combo. Non flex, machined stainless retaining ring, 5 hole screw (vs the LaMarzocco 4 hole option) for a more even water delivery. The softened screw head profile reduces the impression in the puck. Thoughtful design. Testing is in progress and so far our results yield a softer, cleaner, fluffy not airy, espresso.
The rigid, thick gauge screen is designed to create an even dispersion of water via engineered hole size and placement, and will not deform if the portafilter is overfilled with coffee. A machined stainless steel retaining ring seals to the dispersion block, reducing the bypass of water during extraction."
Thoughts? I mean, aside from that its a $75 dispersion screen?
