We have a television available for customers to watch and listen to as they wait in line and when they sit down.

Right now, we run news in the morning, and then switch over to the food network later in the day.  I leave the remote out for customers to pick what they want.

I'm curious what other folks typically show on the tube.  So, please post and let us know.

turner classic movies... kinda gives the shop a different feel.
Probably not exactly what you were thinking of, but...

We have a second monitor plugged in to the house computer to entertain people while they are in line. It runs a constantly-evolving slideshow of pictures of customers, upfit pictures, the occasional ad for customers' businesses, and some coffee info slides. It is extremely popular. Some people will watch for their pic to come up AND have fun reactions when they recognize people...

FWIW, I don't like "regular" TVs in coffee shops, at all. I've yet to find one that was playing something that added to the atmosphere. We do get the occasional request to add one at our shop and we always politely decline. Really, if you are that interested in the news or your stocks... there's probably a laptop in front of you anyway.

Fox News... WTF?!

Looking forward to seeing some of the interesting ideas that people have for positive things to play.
all 4 seasons of squidbillies, on a loop.
