If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
maybe
About Me:
I`m a Foreign Trade Consultant (and coffee lover), that was lucky enough to made it to the WBC2007. Unfortunately the airline lost my luggage, which arrived only a few minutes before my competition time. I was disqualified ... but I did learn a lot about coffee and the barista profession.
I`m working to promote the consumption of specialty coffee and the barista profession in Argentine ... and soon in Latin-America, too.
Fede,
So you want to drive around Alaska like Che Guevara did on a motorcycle in South America? If you really want to drive an "ATV" or "RV" from Seattle to Prudhoe Bay via the Cassiar/AlCan/Dalton Highways, August would be the final month to do it. Personally, if I were going on an Alaskan trek, I would use a combination of Alaska Airlines, (AMHS) Alaska's ferry system, Alaska Railroad, car rental, airplane & helicopter charters.
hello! exciting that you're planning to come to alaska and even on an ATV...sounds like you'd fit in perfectly here...august is definitely the last month you'd be able to do it as it gets fairly dark once the solstice happens as well as colder, especially up north. june/july would be your best bet when we have nearly 24 hours of light and the weather is comfortable. i camped along the pipeline on the dalton highway with a friend on the way to the arctic circle in october and it was definitely a little uncomfortable, but alaskans are pretty much used to that :D it really just depends on your comfort level i s'pose. let me know if you have any other questions, i'd love to help you out. being an ambassador for this crazy place kind of comes with the territory...we love sharing the natural beauty and lifestyle with folks!
It´s in April. We have alot of work to do befor then. Nothing has been planed for the competition, no work has been done. Sadly, we don´t get much time. But we´ll do fine =)
bien todo bien , veo que volviste de vacaciones, ahora estoy trabajando un cafe de especialidiad de ecuador muy muy bueno , con el campeonato no se que vaya a pasar pero avisame si cuando es alla para volver de todas maneras.
man, i was training on my own, you seat in front of your machine and start testing, more coffee, less coffee, corser grinding, finer one, forget grams ,they dont count, the cup is counting, in 20-30sec some 20-35ml, find glass testing cups if you dont have them, train and train, when finding your perfect espresso, find the time for splashing period even it can be tricky but dont worry. then milk, tons of milk, micro foam, forget latte art and train to make perfect milk, or at least the one close to.then go back again, clean grinder and just train dosing, leveling, tamping with as less ground and thrown coffee. its the hardest way but it sounds like is your and mine, we dont have friends as others to help us, but we have passion and will. just go on with the show! i was lucky to visit norway just before tokyo and those 3 days made me 31st,some were laughing, me, i was smiling and happy in tokyo bcos of all of you. if i was longer and somewhere else with training, ill be maybe first. i dont care, iv seen so many better ones how were shaking hands more then i was. so dont worry

The coffee market in China is growing very fast, but the quality is still poor as any other part of the world.
About the Chinese coffee beans, we have two main regions for it. One is in Yunnan, where they have very good arabica beans, and another one is Hainan, where they have mainly the robusta beans. The production volume is not big, comparing with vietnam but increasing.

I had been to Buenos Aires in 1996 and learnt that the living cost was very high there. How is it now? It is a very beautiful country and hope to visit it again.
Glad you like CoffeeGeek :) I hope to visit Argentina sometime. I think Mark told me about you after the competition and that he was very impressed with your performance under the circumstances!
Hey Fede you can check out Bondi anytime on this webcam:http://www.coastalwatch.com/camera/cameras_large.aspx?cam=3800&state=NSW&t=8:31:19%20AM&camName=Bondi
I prefer the Avoca webcam cause its closer to home. I hope your board is waxed...

Your new project sounds exciting!! It actually sounds exactly like what I wanted to do a year ago. Has anyone signed up? When is it scheduled to happen?
It was really good to hear from you! Ojala que nos veamos pronto!

I don't know Bob if I'll have any good opinions for you, but I'm happy to try. You can e-mail me at coffeetastingwoman@Gmail.com.
I'm traveling in El Salvador for the next couple of weeks, so my e-mail access might be a little more limited, FYI. I'm not sure yet.
