Great article in the magazine, Jon. It was really nice to see the College Market get some well-deserved exposure. Thanks.

  • Dismas

    Hey Jon. Happy New Year.
  • Ray Welsh

How's the competition practice going? I've been thinking about going over and helping with the Mountain Regional Barista Champion. If you head this way we should get together.
  • Mike Strumpf

Yo Jon! Looking forward to seeing you soon. I can hardly believe mr. barista competition is coming up so soon. If you have any questions about anything, you know how to find me.
  • Kristy

Thanks for the nice words, I think I will use "esteemed manager" from here on out.
  • Andy Newbom

jon is the one true coffee man
  • Darren Reynolds

    Jon,
You may remember me from 2005 SCAA. I worked for Visions and you were behind the Mirage machine at our booth. It was nice to see your feature in Bmag! If you ever some through Wenatchee feel free to drop in. Keep up the good work!

  • Ken Nye

  • Darren Reynolds

Thanks for the comment Jon. I've got a warm demitasse with your name on it.
  • Troy Reynard

Jon...thanks for pimping the jam, I get emails constantly from people you are talking to about it, it's going to be a great event!
  • David LaMont

I just drove in from Durham and should no doubt be sleeping. But I'm caught in the midst of the battle between brain and body--body wants to sleep...brain wants to think. I think I'll cast my vote with the body.

And yes, I am sorta on permanent Japan time...always at the ready.
  • Katie Carguilo

i wont if you dont :-)
  • Mike Strumpf

Wait till you see the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place cups!
  • Tony Serrano

Man, I love that van! I've got the gypsy wanderlust in my blood!
  • Alex

how much for you to cater my personal breakfast tomorrow?
  • Kristy

No MRBC for College Market this year. Nathan decided that he really would not have enough time to train and focus, which was a hard but real decision. I wanted so bad to go for the judges training, but since Feb. 29 is my 3rd wedding anniversary no Colorado for me either this year. I am planning a trip your way, actually to Plummer ID, in May.
  • Troy Reynard

Congratulations! Can't wait to hear about it!
  • Billy Wilson

    dude...
  • Josh Ferguson

congratulations from the kaldis folks on your great performance. see you at the usbc
  • David

I was told to drop you a line from every freaking person at Kaldi's and ask for some coaching lessons. They said watching you was one of the best/most polished performances they'd seen. Congrats!!!
  • ThePete

Jon! Congrats on the win! Sorry I missed the event, I was in Denver the week prior and I cried when I found out I was early. See you at USBC, keep rockin the house yo.
  • Robin "Big Daddy" Seitz

Congrats on the win Jon! See you at USBC in May! You rock
  • ThePete

Indeed the tears flow like beer... Sweet, delicious beer! We will have to grab a pint in Minneapolis!
  • ThePete

さびしい!You really aren't coming out? You will be terribly missed brother. Cograts on the baby though!
  • Mike Marquard

i want to ride in your truck.
  • Andi C. Trindle

    Hey Jon,
I was one of your judges at the mountain regionals. Thanks for the great drinks and excellent presentation. You're a true pro and it was awesome to see your performance up close.
  • Frank McGinty

Hey Jon great to meet you at Denver hopet to see you at Nationals, good luck with kid #2, from another dad to be.
Love to check out the truck some time, maybe a road trip to St.Louis for ya
  • scott conary

Great to see you again Jon...a job well done and always a pleasure. Sorry you will miss USBC, but obviously for great reasons! Congrat's to you both and I hope to be able to catch up with you one way or another.....
  • Mike Strumpf

it was a dream, and an awesome one. thank you so much for your inspirational performance. monday morning everyone at work was asking if we can secure a date for the 2009 mr. bc! can you e-mail me your address so that we can mail something?
  • Phil Proteau

Thank you tons for coming out for our little Jam. It was a real treat to work with you and to watch you work. Next time drive the truck out. And thanks for the Sanani.

I forgot to mention, I had a great time meeting and hanging out with Leanne and Justin.
  • Jeff Taylor

Hey Jon, congrats on the big win! sorry I wasn't there to see another stellar perfomance.
  • S.a.a.d.i.a

Jon, Congratulations on your MRBC win!!
  • S.a.a.d.i.a

I just might do that next year, so Doug should be afraid. We'll see, it's just hard to juggle it all, especially with a family. Are you having a baby soon?
  • flyingthud

Thanks Jon, look forward to meeting you some day soon. I hope to get to the SCAA show, will you be there?
  • Douglas Naiman

Jon, you're a great person, and I know that you'll be an even better dad. Congratulations! I still wish we could see you in Minn though.

    Best of Wishes
  • Stephen

Hey Jon, it was great meeting you at the Barista JAM in Easton... I look forward to seeing you soon
  • Douglas Naiman

I think so. I might have a chance of getting in the top 50 without you there.
  • Mike Strumpf

Don't know if you saw your mention here: http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_8526412. I told her that I tear up, not you. I seem to have bad luck being mis-quoted and named with the Denver media. It's nice that she included us in her article, especially the mentioning of Long Story Short- she's probably the most popular food writer in Denver.
  • Joe Marrocco

    Hello from Missouri!
  • Ryan Willbur

No refrigerating my herbs. I'm stoked to see how this plays out... Being that my presence in Minneapolis depends on my performance in the Western... Who knew working for a company with so many desiring competitors could be a bad thing?
  • Ryan Willbur

It's interesting. I always have felt that regional results should determine who has entry to the US... But I wasn't planning on being the guy who lives in the same region as a hungry USBC who wants to defend her title... not to mention my coworkers... The weekend will be a blast, but I'm not expecting any kind of cakewalk... I'll be blogging and hopefully have some good photos and videos to share with the world!
  • Robbie Britt

    Jon,

Just wanted to say thanks again for your hospitality yesterday. Looking forward to more coffee and discussions. I'll send you more contact info. when I get settled in.
  • Chris/Dale

    cheers from the midwest,

Heard you hung out with Rob the other day.... you might want to check and make sure he didn't swipe your all your table salt as he's a notorious fiend for the Sodium Chloride...

  • Peter Middlecamp

I can't tell you how excited for you to be a new daddy!
My mother has been an ob/gyn nurse for nigh on 40 years now, and my family gets real excited to hear about good people becoming parents.
  • Greg Lefcourt

Jon, you are the man. Just in case you didn't already know that. Wish you could make Minnysoda. Be well brotherman.
  • Stephen Carey

    ...it wasn't me...
    or
... yeah, I teared up too.
  • Stephen Carey

    nice picture too.
