Welcome Brady. Glad to have you on the Exchange!

Brady...Did you really plant our Organic Sumatra?
  • WMitro

Haha I didn't think Mr.Brady was that crazy, but I think the easiest route would be buying your plants from ebay, which what I did. Mine are about 18in high now. I bought seeds from the internet before and tried to germinate them, and they did not. I heard unless you are expierenced its hard.

    Hey Brady,

Man, I wish you were in business a long time ago. I grew up in Gastonia (14 years), so I'm in the Charlotte area about every 1-2 years. For the longest time, there has been nowhere to get espresso (I only travel with a pour-over cone and manual grinder) in the area. Hope to visit you next time I'm in the area.

NICE...i am impressed with your site and store as well. Thank you for taking the time to respond. Let me know if i can ever come spend the day to have a "real" life experience.
  • Brendon Parsons

Yep, Brady, I'm still in South Florida. I'm working at an environmental chemistry lab this summer, so I haven't been posting much lately. How's the shop doing? Have you been able to feature any interesting coffees lately?
  • Monte

My wife and I enjoyed meeting you and your parents. You(and your parents) provided us some ideas. We visited the other shop but it just did no stack up with yours. Her sign is difficult to see and I just believe you have a much more professional looking shop all the way around.
My wife and I are panning to visit with Jay hopefully one day this week. She is off this week and I have one client coming in town but I hope to only spend about a half day with him so we can get to see Jay.
It was a pleasure meeting you. I would liketo keep the communication lines opne with you and your family. It was very thoughtful and you relly went out of your way for us. We areally appreciate all you did for us.

I was slightly confused by the sax at first I didn't know you played the sax.
  • Studley

I keep forgetting to tell you; you have my vote for the best coffee in Charlotte! I would stop by more often but you are not open at 5:30 am when I am usually passing through.
  • daniel

thanks for your input! sorry the "barrel role" isn't working out for you...
  • Diversity Den Cafe

HI Thanks for checking in. I had to take a moment. It came to light my broker was not doing much of anything withme finding a locaiton. I realized i had to perform this search myself. I saw a place yesterday but wanted to get some feeback from local owners.
  • Barry Zeitlin

Brady, thanks for the kind words. In looking at the photos of your patio, I'd recommend some potted sago palms as well as a trellis with some bougenvelia
  • Shiloh Nelson

Thanks for the comment on my afternoon drink... that one is if I crave something foofy after my third americano... I must have missed when you responded. Your shop looks beautiful! So does the Latte Art!

Hey Brady, long time no talk.

Brady, it truly is out of hand. People are absolutely nuts about their concepts of quality coffee. The wife had a friend at church call her the other night and ask what could be found on the grocer's shelf that was mild and medium roasted. She replied, "Nothing" and proceeded to give her Counter Culture's web addy. $B has really educated some folks, haven't they?

I bet we could have a barista jam one day and we could play the sax in a sax duet :) LOL

I played the tenor in junior and high school and was 1st chair N.C State. Really enjoyed it. My church has an orchestra but I am just so rusty it is crazy.
  • Wilson Hines

DANG IT MAN! I just went to your site and saw pics. Look, I hope your coffee is as good as your atmosphere. That is some smack'n atmosphere. OMG, is your coffee that good? Are you going to pull me a raw shot, Brady?
  • Wilson Hines

    Hey I won't bite...hard...at first.

I know I just sound negative all the time. But, I do find jewels out there, too. That guy at Mt Victory really has something special. Is it fantastic? No, but he is making every effort and is willing to learn. Enough said, right there.

  • Diversity Den Cafe

  • Evelyn

    Brady,

I am thrilled by your comment on water temp. and how it affected your coffee in the press. This is not something I have thought about before but will now, because of you.

Thanks for your info and your passion.

Hi Brady - Thought I'd officially say hi!

    Hi Brady,

We've been a member of Barista Exchange since early on but quite honestly have not had time to be part of the community here much. So you have our humble apologies about what appeared to be just blatant self promotion. When I saw the "add Coffee House" button I thought it was just a way to add information about our establishment. I should have taken a closer look first.

Anyway, I actually appreciate you pointing out my ignorance and have removed the entry from the discussion board.

    Kind regards,
    Bruce

    Hi Brady,

Thanks for the input. Yeah I felt kinda funky about leaving ourselves a rating of any kind let alone a 5 star one. And the explanation of our place was so lengthy because I was just cutting and pasting from another source. Ughh... anyway.. thank you. Thank you also for the kind words. We are pretty proud of our place but we are aiming very high so there is always room for improvement. If you are ever in the area we'd love to have you in.

    Cheers,
    Bruce

    Thank you Brady.

    Yo B.
  • Jason Dominy

You know it. Getting final touches done this week. When can you help?
  • Jason Haeger

Very cool! Thanks for the note. Congrats on the progress.
  • Andy Newbom

    howdy!
  • Adrian Badger

Hey Brady... on the "favorite brewing method" discussion you mentioned a secondary filter for a french press. What does that refer to?
