About Me:
Alvaro Sanchez, of Spanish descent, is a master coffee roaster and accredited barista trainer
with over 8 years experience in the hospitality industry. He learnt the craft of roasting in
Australia where he managed one of the country’s leading barista academies, as well as
worked with some of the world’s best boutique coffee roasters and baristas, having trained
three current coffee roasters around in the Australasian region.
Sanchez has also been twice a finalist in the Australian National Barista Championship
2002-2003 and a judge in the 2005 and 2006 National Australian Championships and
National Latte Art Competition. Sanchez finds the art and science of coffee a fascinating
and never ending journey of continuous discovery and learning, and has been sharing his
