Hey, another Kiwi!! Great to see you on BX. You heading to Trieste next month? Where are originally from in NZ?
  • Alun Evans

Yes, we work closely with small holders here. My focus is on roasting, so we buy direct from our own villagers where and when possible. Know Wanganui pretty well, my Uncle has a house near the Racecourse and my Cousin is also living there. Good luck with the opening...you have a confirmed date yet??
  • Alun Evans

Hey good for you! Give us a shout when the website is up and running, I would love to have a look.
  • Alun Evans

Mate sounds like its going to be great! I am probably going to be up your way again mid 09. This visit will be too early I would expect. I will for sure drop in and say hi!
  • Alun Evans

Hope its all moving along nicely for you. If the Indonesian currency continues crashing like it has over the last 3 days, I may need to come knocking on your door for a job! Where in Welly were you working when you lived there? Such a vibrant coffee town...
  • Alun Evans

Well I just saw on the stuff.co.nz website that they have found the first Tuatara Nest in 200 years... maybe thats a good sign for you and your battle with beauracracy!!
  • Pangi

    Kia ora bro,
Good for you for taking dome decent coffee to the UK. Lived there for a bit, now in NYC. Hope it works out for ya.
  • Pangi

I know a few actually. I'll be sure to send them on down.
  • Alun Evans

hows progress?? Meet some kiwis as well as bunch of coffee educated brits in Trieste. Will u let me know when u open and I will point them your way
  • Alun Evans

EXCELLENT! Can feel the anticipation building from here. i "hear" (and no disrespect intended for the UK BX'ers) that kiwis and aussies are struggling to find a coffee that suits in London. I "hear" there is one place, appropriately named 'Flatwhite' which is good
  • Pangi

You open yet? Got a friend that just left NYC for London and is in need of a flat white or two.
  • Pangi

Living the dream bro. Awesome good for you. Seems like you're generating some positive vibes in the area.
Just sent an email out to my London people to get on down there.
Photos look great. Who took them?
  • Pangi

Yeah he (Adam) skyped me tonight. He was really impressed. He's no coffee expert but has a good palette and is pretty hard to please so thumbs up there. He'll be back for sure. Thanks for hooking him up. How is it coming along?
  • Alun Evans

I would recommend a trip to Berastagi. Its a couple of hours from Medan and was at one stage a Dutch resort town as well as a plantation center. Its not too difficult to get too and has quite a few expats scattered around. If (he/she?) is an experienced Indo traveller and has more time- then exploring the Lintong/Sidikalang growing areas or even, at a stretch, Aceh.
