If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
yes
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I own and operate a moderately busy independent coffee shop. I have competed in the Mid-Atlantic Barista competition twice, placing seventh out of seventeen this past year (2007). I think I am reasonably skilled at making espresso drinks, and can pour some form of recognizable latte art on most drinks I serve.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Anywhere, literally.
About Me:
I am a devout local-vore, I try to follow a "100 Mile" diet, eating mostly organic food produced locally. I love bicycles. I'm married and have one obnoxious dog.
About My Company:
It's a small coffee shop in a small city next to a small college!
troy the key BETTER be under your door mat or guess whose gonna ring your doorbell at 6 am?? Also... i ordered another loaf of banana bread, i'll save u a slice.
Hi Troy nice to meet you.. I love coffee and also tattoo. Are you a tattoo artist too?
Im a new barista, I work at Starbucks. I also new in barista exchange. If u have some knowledge that U want to share. Im willing to listen thx. I want to learn more about coffee, everything. Any suggest where can I get it?
Troy, the ink is awesome. Is that an original Phil piece of art? Took a CC class in DC with him -- AWESOME! If you have acquired any other great art looking to turn them into ink, I'm looking for the same. I just became a manager at a Java City in the Harrisonburg, VA area at JMU. Would love to hear from you if you have any ideas on how to take a corporate product and ramp shop energy up for the college crowd. Sounds like your shop is awesome -- have to visit sometime!
I got your message from Jay at the competition! Thanks for thinking of me :)
I placed 7th, went overtime by 17seconds, and tried my very best. I was proud of what I did and it'll only get better from here.
It was a very west coast heavy final, but I tell ya, the East is picking up strength :)
I am coming to visit your shop on November 5th (wednesday), i think. I'm going to visit vegan treats bakery in bethlehem, and i just realized you're only 20 mins from there! yay!
Hey Troy, How was the parade?
I had Halloween duty, and a meeting with the electrician- Town Hall Coffee comes first, even to 4 million drunk Philadelphians.
Shop's moving forward... Hope to get up there again to see you guys soon.
Did you hear Steve Morissey and Ellie Matuszak are doing a intense barista training at the Urnex headquarters in Yonkers, NY on January 5. It's primarily geared for people who are looking to compete in the competitions and there is a cost for attendance but if you want some more info. I'll be glad to pass it on.
Hey! Your like my third request, which means people notice me...this makes me happy. ...yay... And your photo rocks. I know a lot of folk up in PA some likelyhood of me getting up there one day is pretty good. I'm seeing a lot of mentioning of bikes and tats. That's a plus. Altered tattoo coffee = life blood. I've been moving packing and working for two weeks semi sucessfully... sorry if this is only mildly coherentl
hey...Mike came by your shop today while out on some travels...brought back some groovy tshirts and some great coffee! He was impressed with your staff, said theyknow their coffee stuff....good job. Hope you're welll. We're ice covered at the moment.
I have my cosmic cup thermal on today and love it! People are asking questions!!
Oh and old people dont tear their biceps lifting weights, sorry. That's a manly injury!
Yes it worked out very well - I'm running the Mon, Thurs and Fri morning shift.
My new project is writing the operations manual for the company. Good times fueled by lots of coffee. Oh, and did you hear the lastest news from Maine? A topless coffeeshop is coming to Vassalboro. This town has about 4.000 people in it. Talk about a "work hazard".
Yeah, the competition is February 7-8 and it's in Cranberry. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get off work to go and watch it and get some tips, but if I'm off I'm definitely going if I can find a ride.
Thanks for adding me as a friend. I also have a small coffee shop in a small town. We have been here for just a short time but our response has been good. Believe it or not it is a real challenge for most people to find a decent cup of coffee in this part of Costa Rica. We have made it our goal to provide great espresso drinks and quality coffee to the masses down here.
Hi Troy, I'd like to get myself and some of my staff to the Jam in June, but as we're in New Haven (The Publick Cup) we'll have to be choosy about when we go. As you know it, I'd love some more information regarding the schedule. Thanks!
Hey Troy, Dave here from The House of Coffee in Lahaska PA, I saw a flyer for the Barista Jam, would like to bring a few of us up, email me as I have a few questions, Thanks- david_schuler@comcast.net
