Hey! Yes, I do have a copy...or rather, Scott has my copy...and he lost it. So, he's going to either find it or buy me a new copy. It really is a great book.
Oh boy! Resources is a question that I could go on and on about! Read in the blue barista folder that we have in the drawer under the register. There is a lot of helpful information there. Also, in that, I wrote the "about coffee" article (it's the one with the massive color picture of of the bean and cross-section). At the end of the article, I included a list of websites, videos, and books and magazines to look into for further learning. As far as books go, I have "Uncommon Grounds: A History of Coffee and How It Transformed Our World", and the coffee Bible which is "All About Coffee." Those are great things to get you started. Also, I don't think i added to that list coffeeresearch.org, but that is a good site as well. You can borrow what I have, but be very very very careful with my "All About Coffee" book! It is out of print and I had to pay $170 for it!
Yes, I'll be returning to work at the shop! This summer and fall (through Christmas time) I'll be working probably 60+ hours a week, so yeah... :) Keep the interest to learn, and you'll go far!
Just wanted to let you know that I'm sending some coffee up to the shop from a couple Texas roasters for y'all to try. Should get it early next week. Let me know what you think. Tell everyone up in Peoria that I said hey.
