I am currently in a position focusing on Equipment Sales, Education, and Barista Support. I focus on quality from seed to cup, and push education continuously amongst employees and customers. I am extremely passionate about coffee, and have found that others become the same way if around me for any length of time.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Norway, UK, Portland, LA, SF, Vancouver, Chicago, New York, any chance to go to origin.
About Me:
I consider myself an advocate and steward of the coffee. I enjoy the new challenges that arise in coffee to constantly cause me to learn new things and become more and more flexible in my approach to coffee and life. I have a beautiful wife, Katie, a son, Asher, and a daughter, Elliana. They are a constant source of pride and joy in my life. For me all things in life are to be pursued with humility and excellence, and my motivation for doing so is because of a life-changing encounter with God. When I have free time I enjoy playing basketball, paintball, and chess, as well as cafe hopping.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
The way coffee can sweep you off your feet with this intoxicating romace that motivates you to always become a better steward of the coffee. A very close second being the relational aspect that draws all walks of life to culminate around this beverage.
I'm so glad to have met you too!
As for my favorite coffee drink...I like it when the barista makes a picture in the drink- on the top with the milk. It almost comes out looking like a fern leaf or a flower or something like that. Sometimes it can be a heart. The barista just draws it in the coffee with the milk as he pours it! It's amazing...I saw it on youtube!
; )
The pics are a nice addition! Sorry I was busy last night. I will be driving to St. Louis later this evening, so I'll give you a call then. I'll be at the Kaldi's roaster all day tomorrow.
dude, i'm thoroughly enjoying it. i've already got a guy asking me about worship leading in a few weeks... can't escape somethings i suppose...pulled an amazing rosetta on a cap...the customer said..."oooh pretty" then stirred in two equals... hows Z3 goin?
Hey bro, it was fun watchin the comp online. Good to know I could put a smile on yer face (isn't there some cheesy song about that?). Yeah, maybe we could both be USBC bound and everyone goin gaga for drinks! I had a thought of a drink based on Tom Cruise, because it's gonna be INSANE! Thats as far as I got, no ingrediants yet.
cool about the clovers my friend , i'm enjoying a tanzinian clover as i type...s'alright... the crescent is good...ridiculously busy...wnat to hear soemthing funny... i'm leading worship next sunday at a church up here... hahaha......hmmmmm
Hey my friend !
How goes it ? Saw Joe last week. Nice haircut on the boy !
Let us know how it's going IF & when you have time. 'Know you're busy. Great pix . . . . why are wearing that cold weather gear ! (hah, . . just messing with you). ed
Cuppings...Every week, last week i had a microlot of Kenya, that blew my mind...It was like it was spiked with a capri-sun... good to talk to you as well, also, looks like Im doing the thing again...
I know what you mean. They have moved me over to another airplane - (totally new & therefore, LOTS to learn. Saw Joe the other day. He & Violet donated their hair for the cancer patients . . . . cool ! Both still look good (well, Violet looks good . . . . .) Miss you being around . . . just not the same. Of course, look who's talking . . . I'm not around either ! Got a crew apt. up here in St. Louis. Tough isn't it ! At least I get to be at home after an hour & a half drive.
I went to school in Montana and that's 2100 miles from Nashville. You're in my prayers, brother.

(oh, thanks for taking the VALUABLE time to write back. I completely understand.)
Just wanted you to know the "terrible" things being spoken about you. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - Thread to Joe - - "Okee - Dokee . . . . sounds good. I've tried to time my run-a-rounds to show up for cuppings. I even "map quested" the roasting facility with the full intent of being there . . . but, alas, it has not happened. I definitely will make the effort now !
Got a crash pad near the airport, so that will free up some expenses for hotel rooms. We need to hit the tobacco again ! So much for Britt ! ! The guy has the audacity to run off to the west coast & leave us all here ! Of course, let's think this through . . . . . now we have a place to stay when we go out to the coast ! The Britt's homestead ! Hope all is well with you & your lovely girls. "
very nice meeting you at coffee fest. talk to you again soon. good job at the latte art comp. i am now a big fan of zoka. had my best set of shots from your booth and the ethiopian you were brewing up sunday on the brew bar blew me away. thanks.
hopefull i will be able to keep my blog up to date. lately i havn't been able to log on at home and have been needing to got to the library. Jon and I did make it to the snoquami shop. very cool. so many coffees I wanted to try all of them, but jon was very controlled and only took one bag. I hope i get to try it today. ethiopian beloya. smelled so good. cant wait.
Hey I got a package of samples from Zoka. Jon and I pulled some spro the other day and I have been pressing the tangletown at home the last couple of days. I still have the ethiopian sidamo. I can't wait. As usual great great coffee.
Josh turned 10, SEMO Organics is now reverted back to a buying club (that's cool.) I haven't made it yet to Kaldi's to harrass Joe, but I hope my sched will relax a little so I can be involved in a cupping or two (or three). You all (that's ya'll) are in our prayers & thoughts !
Hello Robbie. Thanks again for helping out by passing my resume along. I'm truly excited to work with Zoka! I look forward to meeting you sometime. THANKS!
Good to see you rob,
congrats on selling your house and don't let the midwesterners give you static for the hat , we'll all be wearin' one in six months or so.
Hell yea man Great job heard you grabbed 3rd Congrats. Will I be running into you in Feb at Coffee Fest? Surely hope so and also hope all is well with you and zoka great roasters.
Rob!!! It was great to hang with you for the short time we I was able to. Looks like I'll get to do it a bit longer in March. Portland, here we come. We'll chat b/w now and then. With the awesome feedback I got from the judges, and the new grinder we are getting, my scores are going to be going up quite a bit. Good luck with all of your training!
thanks for the note. it is always a pleasure and great job on your performance. yes, several of the kaldi's crew will be making the trip west....see you in portland.
Things are pretty cool in chi-town just looking for a new bar to call home. Its not easy though lots of shops are either overstaffed and not looking or just doing wicked crazy techniques and making it clear there is no room for change. I would be fine working at a place and helping make it better. Well anyway too bad I wont see you in Feb. But keep practicing and if I can save up my girl and I are throwing around the idea to go watch comp in this year so we will see you if that happens. How are things with you though, whats new how is life at zoka.
Robbie...it is always a pleasure to see you! You are ore than welcome to look me up next time you are in Atlanta. You have an open invitation!
I dig the music choices you have on your page by the way...
I would love to say I would see you at world but its only a 25% chance that we can swing it due to lack of funds. But we will for sure be streaming it. Hey so my gal and I are going to order some coffee from your place what is your fav right now, or whats really hot! I figure ask the expert. Talk to you soon take care
Hey man how are you doing hope all is well long time no talk. I just wanted to share with you that I just roasted my own batch(s) of coffee yesterday and it was amazing. Cant wait to have some good coffee talk with you soon. Take care hope our paths cross soon
I hope you're weathering the heat wave well!! This is probably the only time in history that it is nicer temp. in St. Louis than Seattle, especially mid-summer. Sorry I haven't been in much contact the last few weeks. We are slamming busy over here. How is Zoka? Kirkland about to spring into gear!??! I'm thinking of you all and sending long distance support.
