I too wish you success. The coffee industry in Indonesia is still in its infancy, the specialty side in particular is a goo way behind the industry in Australia and New Zealand, but not too far behind other Southeast Asian nations... with the exception of perhaps the Philippines and of course Japan (which is actually not really in S.E Asia anyway!). I think office locations are indeed good, especially for the indonesian market segment. The key is to of course pick locations selectively... despite the crazy price differences of Starbucks and CBTL, the local market still has a "preference" for these based on branding. Menara Imperium, I think, is a fine place to start.

Good for you Abbas. I have quite a few contacts in the specialty coffee industry in India, what part of the country were you in?

Most of my contacts are in the Rural growing areas, although obviously our machine partners have offices in Delhi. Its an interesting country to visit, although the infrastructure (especially in Calcutta) is struggling to keep pace with development there. I went by Menara Imperium yesterday, coming back from a meeting in Menteng. What are your opperating hours? Will drop in and say hello.
