I lost my office job on February 15, 2008 and went into business baking organic out of my home. Now I'm planning to open a coffee house in a neighboring town. The only problem is I have very limited experience in this field and have lots of questions.
About Me:
I have always wanted to own my own shop and now is the time. The coffee house appeals to me because of the tranquil, inviting setting. I'm anxious to continue my baking business within the store and be my own boss.
About My Company:
I am looking at a building to rent and hope to be up and running the first of July.

    My advise would be to checkout the website and they can train, consult and help you with every aspect of opening a cafe. I went to their school and am opening in a few weeks they are amazing.

    The Bean Basic book is as thick and educational as any of my college text books! It is well worth the money! It was part of the package when we took the class. We also bought a lot of the other books and DVDs. I can not image trying to get into the specialty coffee business without these very valuable materials.
    Please note I do not work for them and I receive nothing from them by recommending them. I just believe in them and what I learned out there. The knowledge I gained wasn't just how to pull a shot or cook a panini (which we did) but how to start, run and operate a specialty coffee business. Do not leave all this valuable information to just anyone. By the way if I had listened to Matt and others at ABCs on other things... well, I would not have hired that consultant that has been such a problem.
