Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
We renovated a 1928 house that had been used for a small business and had a fire in one room with extensive smoke and water damage. We gutted it and rebuilt and it's now quite the show piece.

We have had some down sides like termites, Coffee Prophets, and Crossroads Espresso, and a corner of the foundation that needed to be rebuilt; all took their toll on our finances. It's been a year now and we have made it this far and don't plan on giving up anytime soon. We have artists and musicians seeking us out now. We have guests who come from out of town, out of state, and even some from out of country who stop in to see our place and coffee and lunch.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Scotland, Wales, Ireland
About Me:
We've been pursuing our goal of owning an independent specialty coffee house for several years. In 2003 we started looking for a location. In Oct 2006 we attended ABC in Portland, OR for our Barista & business training In February of 2007 we bought the land and were planning to build from the ground up... then the property (with building) next door became available.. In Sept 2008 we purchased it and started the renovations.
March 27th 2012 we will celebrate 3years of business!!!
About My Company:
The Celtic Cup Coffee House is a community oriented coffee house. Every step of the way we have included friends, family and others in our community to tell us what they would like to have in a coffee house. This has really connected us with the community and there is a sense of pride and connection now with a great number of people. Everyone has been very supportive and we are truly blessed to be in such a wonderful community.

The Celtic Cup Coffee House is a Specialty Coffee House with an old world atmosphere. We celebrate the Celtic heritage of our community while serving the best coffee in Coffee County (an beyond).
We're about Great Coffee, Great Company, and a Great Community!

Our menu includes Specialty coffees, espresso beverages, teas, blender drinks, soups, sandwiches (including panini), specialty salads, pastries, and cookies. We will also offer Bridies (a Scottish meat pie), shortbread, scones, and tarts. On special events we often have Scotch eggs, Corned beef & cabbage and any number of other old world traditional dishes. We now have our beer license and serve domestic and import specialty beers.

On the second Saturday of each month we host an afternoon tea complete with porcelain tea cups, silver trays, table cloths and the works. We use an inspiration for each event. (Jan, Hogmany/ Robert Burns; Feb Chocolate & St Valentines Day; March St David & St Patrick; April Easter & Spring time; ...in July we will drink coffee not tea as we celebrate America's Independence; Oct, Pumpkins; Nov, Thanksgiving; Dec, Christmas). February 2012 we had our first live music during the Tea. April 2012 brings The Mad Hatter's Tea Party as well as 'Cricket & Snail' (live music). In June of 2012 we will celebrate the Queen's Jubilee.

We have an ever growing and changing retail area. We now sell a wide variety of Two Leaves and a Bud. We have an assortment of CDs from the many talented musicians who have performed here at The Celtic Cup Coffee House. We also have flags from many of the Celtic nations and a number of other items. We recently added handmade pottery from Emerson Creek Pottery. We also now carry beautiful jewelry from Sweet Romance, an American made company.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
All the wonderful people I have met and the adventure of learning something new each day.

There are a few commercially made that are close. Try Duncan Underglazes (CN073 may be a bit on the bright side) or Duncan "Gallery Opaque" Gloss glaze (GO135 Candied Apple Red) is pretty close. Duncan has a good selection, but some others to try are Mayco and Spectrum. In Colorado we use www.milehiceramics.com out of Denver, but if there are any supply shops near you they are a good place to ask around. If you are in for making your own, though, I'm no expert... I have a friend I can call but it may be some time before I can get the recipe. I'm game to try because it was almost perfect, but if you don't have a glaze kitchen it may not be worth it. Good luck, let me know if you want the recipe!
