Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I began a job as a barista at CU4Coffee about 3 years ago not knowing what I was getting myself into. As a culinary student I should have realized that there was alot more to coffee than you would think, and after discovering this and falling in love with coffee I dropped out of school to pursue a career as a proffesional barista. I now work at a small shop called Spill the Beans, but hope to someday soon own my own shop or shops. I have learned so much about coffee producing regions and how to make each cup of coffee better than the last. I have had some training from a Grounded barista and the wonderful Tracy Allen.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Ethiopia, Columbia, Brazil,Costa Rica.... Any and all!
About Me:
I love coffee! Every morning I wake up excited to go to work and learn more. I can't wait to travel and am highly convinced that I will be a successful shop owner in the semi-near future! I am a people person and sometimes get down right giddy when at work! I love my customers and enjoy talking to them and sharing the information I am learning about this artistic and intricate business
About My Company:
Spill the Beans is owned by Meg Laccaruba. This is the second shop I have worked in. We use a local roaster and have a vast array of baked goods made fresh in house.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
I love the evolving industry. I believe you should always be learning new things about whatever it is that you do. I find it hard to pick one thing that is my favorite but I would say that it feels great when a customer says "Wow, this is the best (fill in the blank) that I have ever had!" How rewarding!
