Anywhere and everywhere.
About Me:
I am a retired public health educator and medical interpreter trainer from Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. We bought land in Ecuador and and run a coffee shop/restaurant. I live in Mindo, Ecuador about 2-3 months/year and it is a beautiful, tiny, touristy pueblo that is the #1 birding spot in the world. Also has many large waterfalls, surrounded by protected national cloud forest. A lush and beautiful place. We are regularly running very popular workshops on Chocolate roasting and processing from the plant to chocolate bars. And we are now offering coffee origin tours.
About My Company:
Excellent Ecuadorian coffee is our specialty. I roast all of the coffee for our coffee shop. We also serve excellent fresh organic food grown on site. We make our own chocolate and bake it into delicious brownies and mochaccinos.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
I love drinking excellent coffee and meeting people who appreciate good coffee.

hi barbara, thanks for getting back to me. my wife is originally from ambato, ecuador and we usually visit once a year. we have 2 young kids and feel ecuador would be a wonderful place to raise them. regarding coffee, i have to admit that at this point, im a rookie (im a practicing attorney starting to practice coffee making). we are hoping to get down to ecuador by year's end. may i ask you what kind of equipment you are using? i have been looking at roasters (ambex in particular) grinders (mazzer, mahlkonig) and espresso machines (i dont know where to begin) but im concerned about having them serviced in ecuador. who would handle it? also, i need to locate some mean green beans direct from the growers. any advice you can offer me is greatly appreciated. thanks!!!!
