Hi Shari! yes, the pu-erh does steep a strong cup. there are some that let theirs steep for 10+ minutes! it becomes too strong for me...but still drinkable, due to its lack of astringency.
you did what with the savvy steeper??!!! hehehe just kidding. my sister does the same thing...one for coffee, and one for teas.
Hey - Two things for you...I finally tried the Pu-erh Tuo Cha tea...I loved it! I steeped for 4 minutes - pretty strong tea! Second, I was desperate for something to brew some fresh coffee in and couldn't use the french press because I've tweaked my cheap burr grinder for espresso, and couldn't do a course enough grind....so I used my savvy steeper! (I'm sure you're groaning right now!!) It worked like a champ! I may have to buy a second one for coffee!!! - there's a new marketing angle for ya! ciao!
