I started my career in coffee when i was sixteen, and after training i became the head roaster, about two months after I started. I am also a trained barista, but roasting is my passion.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
I am interested in traveling, well really anywhere.
About Me:
My name is Nathan Smith. I roast coffee for a shop called Copper River Coffee and Tea, and started as a sophomore in high school. I became the head roaster after being very well trained, and here I am today. Im a musician too, and play guitar and violin. I feel extremely lucky to be introduced to the coffee community at such a young age, and am grateful of this wonderful opportunity.
About My Company:
The company I work for is called Copper River Coffee and Tea. Its located in Peoria, Illinois. We are a cafe and a micro-roastery, and the only one located in this city.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
My favorite thing about the coffee industry is the strong sense of community that you get when your in the industry, and also that coffee is ever changing, annd there are always new things to learn.

I love coffee. I roast coffee. I brew coffee in many different ways. I love my job, probably way more than other people (besides the ones in the coffee industry). But the main reason why I love coffee so much, is because it changes, all the time.
