Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.

Hobby Barista for more than 11 years. Started to professionalize around 2010. Volunteered the German Barista Championships 2011, 2012 and the WBCs in Maasstricht & Vienna. I gained my SCAE Level 2 Certified Barista in 2012.

Own a 1996 La Marzocco Linea 2AV, a Macap M7D SL conical grinder, a Mahlkönig Guatemala K32S plus, a Mazzer Super Jolly pimped as doserless and several manual grinders, Pour over equipment, Cold Dripper and refractormeter & Mojo stuff. Friends or guests coming along often talk about my setup as "the coffee lab". ;-).

About Me:

My professional background is computer science. I am a "tech guy" as long as I can think, working with all sorts of systems since the early 80s. My main job is freelance Information Security Consultant and Project Manager mainly in the banking sector where I am juggling with several globally distributed teams. My duty there is to act as a focal point, bringing together people across different entities and hierarchy levels. Main challenge there is gaining some sort of oversight by motivating to "keep in touch".
This is a communication job that requires a broad technical and organizational background.

In the Coffee field I love to contribute these capabilities. So I end up mostly as responsible for all things computers, Websites, Video Streaming, Single Point of Contact and overall project management.
I am working part time as a "Community Barista" - or better I have a counterweight in being a Barista and I LOVE IT ! From time to time i also provide barista training.

Since June 2013 i am a member of board of the German SCAE (Speciality Coffee Association of Europe) Chapter.
