Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
Just getting started, bought the place from the previous owners. The shop has had a succession of owners since it opened in 2004. Looking at the financial records, it looks like a lot of quality bean purchases with no regard to quality preparation. I cannot find a single receipt replacing any parts, or even servicing, any of the equipment. It is sad. And prior to purchase, I had no idea the love and dedication an espresso machine requires. It's like having a classic car: constant TLC needed and folks will notice and appreciate.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
The world over, if time, money, and family were of no consideration.

Just a guy that enjoys family, friends, learning, technology, comic books, and water-cooled volkswagens.

In sad shape for now, but we expect a turn around this fall...previous owners may as well have doused the place in gasoline and struck a match as far as the locals are concerned. Word is getting out though...
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
Coffee...and the seeming constant desire for consistant perfection in the discipline chosen, as well as respect for the ancilliary positions...

I'm sorry to hear that you're shop was unable to recover this year. I know Arkansas has a need for quality focused coffee shops. If you haven't already, try to get into contact with Marty Curtis in Cabot. He's a member of the Roasters Guild and a helluva nice guy. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to provide you with some locally minded advice on where to go from here. I think he's on bX too . . .
