Happy Sunday, all.
First let's get the technical stuff out of the way. I have been roasting for over a year and I'm roasting on The San Franciscan 25lbs roaster.
Last Thursday I got sidetracked printing labels and my roast overheated and I had a drum fire. This was my first roaster fire ever, and never having dealt with one before, I promptly panicked. For some reason that I can't explain, I dropped the beans into the cooling tray. I then had a cooling tray fire. Needless to say it was very hot, smoky, and scary. I panicked again, but this time I panicked with a bucket of water and extinguished the fire.
After a few hours of "after fire" gunk cleaning, my problem is as follows. The roaster turns on, but does not ignite, and the cooling tray arm does not sweep. My theory is such: the motor that drives the cooling tray arm got fried when I poured water over the cooling tray. This would cause a gap in the circuit, signaling to the electric system that something is wrong, thus preventing ignition, no?
Like I said, this is my first fire. I've never had to deal with this problem before. Can anyone confirm my diagnosis or has this happened to anyone before? Thanks!

Sorry you ran into this Joe. Have you tried calling the company on this? I'm sure they would have some advice for you on this. I have met Bill Kennedy and he is a great guy. I'm sure they would be able to diagnose what the next step is.

Yes I did and talked to Bill and he couldn't have been more helpful. Terrific guy and a great company to work with. Turns out I did fry the motor that drives the sweep. I just got a replacement one this morning and am about to install it now. The ignition problem seems to be related to the timer on the control board. However, I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it seems to work fine now. Thanks for for responses.
