Talking about a whole bean grinder for pour overs, chemex, press, etc.  We will be doing by-the-cup brewing for everything.  I'm looking closely a Mahlkonig and a few other options.

What are you guys using?

What do you like/dislike about it?

What make/model would you recommend in the sub-$2000 range? (Obviously, the best and cheapest is preferred given that parameter)?

Thanks for your help guys!

I have gotten to use a Ditting a couple of times and it was a really great grinder. It had really consistent grinds and is pretty solid. I have also used a cheapo BUNN bulk grinder with good results. No matter what you get your going to have to play with it a great deal to get your grind right for your brew process.

Granted.  Dittings are great machines, but I think they run more than $2k though.

Never used one but there it is...sub 2k but just by a hair.
Mahlkonig all the way, and you dont have to go to the 2K range.  I bought my first Mahlkonig after the SCAA, they had used a few for demo during the show and i got a 40% discount.
I have been checking them out on Ebay and you can get some for less than 1K however it's ebay so you know how that goes. I also am unfamiliar with their models so I couldn't tell you which one to get. I hope to get to try a Mahlkonig soon I hear a lot of good things about them.
I used and have used Bunn, Mahlkonig, Compak and GrindMaster grinders in my shops and while I do like the Mahlkonig grinders, I selected the Compak R80 for our hand brew bar. Small footprint, excellent grind quality, good speed and reliable.
Sweet! Thanks, Jay.  I've played with one before, but had forgotten about it.
