Hi pals,

I'm designing the plans for my mobile coffee cart. I've planned to use a plastic water container (20L - 5 gallons) to act as my "water inlet".

As long as I remember from my barista training, the water inlet pressure advised is around 5 bar (72 PSI).

Since I've planned to use a water container, I will not get that much pressure from the tap of the water container. I'm expecting only the pressure resulting from the earth's attraction.

Therefore, I was thinking if it would be possible to use some kind of pump which would convert the pressure from the container's tap to 5 bar (72 PSI).

I've heard there is a minimum pressure required on the water inlet to operate a coffee espresso machine. I was thinking maybe a too low pressure on the water inlet would damage my coffee machine. Therefore, I'm trying to find out the best solution to use my coffee machine at its best.

I would welcome any comments or suggestion. Thank you for shedding me some light on this question.

Cheers,

Laurent
