VFA Magestic Volumetric Programming issues
Hi all,
I'm wondering if you can help me. I was visiting a customer today with a Magestic three-group volumetric machine and the dosing buttons were programmed for odd random dose amounts. Having recently restored a VFA Elite two-group machine, I recalled being able to program dosing by holding the "Constant" or manual on-off button to the far right of the keypad until all buttons flash, then being able to program doses left-to-right.
On this machine, pressing and holding the "Constant" button only resulted in the "Constant" buttons on all three groups flashing six times. The keypads did not accept any programming changes. IMG_0556.JPG

Sounds like perhaps keypad programming may be disabled. On some machines this is done with a jumper on the board, on others (CMA) it's wired to a switch. Can you find a board schematic?

The only schematic I found was on the top of the brain box, as pictured. Would I have to open the box up and look for a jumper? Thanks

Ouch. Yeah, that particular schematic isn't terribly helpful, is it. If they're even shown on the diagram, I suspect the jumper is hidden by the dried caramel sauce spot and/or the flash glare.
Hard to say how this brain uses its jumpers. I'd be reluctant to just start blindly trying things. Too bad it doesn't have a hidden switch like CMA or a lockout key.
