Good to know... Was preinfusion already talked about? Do the GB5's preinfuse? may just have to get my hands on an aurelia.

Hi Alex,

I believe the GB5 has an option in the electronics to turn on an electronic preinfusion. Electronic preinfusion means the water flow starts and stops but always at full pressure. Proggressive preinfusion is a gradual ramp up in pressure from 3 bar to 9.

It is the Linea that has electronic pre-infusion. The GB-5 uses Gicleur valves to achieve a slow infusion ramp up. You can get .07 mm, .06mm or .04mm, maybe more.

Interesting. Wonder how much differently, if at all, the espresso will profile. Gonna have to get me coffee in an aurelia. Thanks for the info.
