Heritage Coffee put out an Obama Blend, with Kenya, Brazil and Costa Rica. No kona, too expensive and we are not currently roasting any. Our town of Juneau had a gathering at the convention center that drew a crowd of over 1000 people. We gave away cups of the coffee, and the 20 bags that were prepped for sale sold in about 6 minutes. names and numbers were taken over the course of the event and we bagged up another 120 bags today. Im anticipating that as more people come and pick up their orders, and send/give the coffee to others that we will sell more. Were now taking orders for shipment in the first week of February. $10/12 oz bag if your interested!
Being in a country where Obama spent some of his childhood, we were heavily involved in Election Day celebrations. The Inaugeration started 11.30pm local time, so was not ideal for us. However we have been following the Balls and other social celebrations during this am over here. We too have an Obama blend that has proven very popular. Big 60inch Plasma screen TV, can see it from anywhere in the Cafe!
Gimme! sent 700 1/2# bags to an innaguration ball, the blog says 600, but I saw them pack 700.

The Hungarian style coffeehouse I regularly attend has a peach coffeecake re-named the "Barack" coffeecake. What is the relation between the peach and our nations new president? Barrack, pronounced '"Ba-Rawtsk", in Hungarian means Peach!
I was on your website earlier, where in PA is your shop?

No Inauguration or Obama blend. Don't have TV screens at my cafe but got in after shopping just as President Obama was starting his inauguration speech. I killed the cd that was playing and tuned in OPB for the speech and turned it up. Susan, a good regular, ask me to turn it down so she could talk on the phone. I told her no, not until President Obama's speech was over. She understood and took her phone call outside in the cold...and has been back each day since. I don't need to try to capitalize on Obama's name, but I'm most assuredly not going to have my coffeehouse NOT be a place for political discourse (as coffeehouse's have been since their earliest day's in Europe) and hence his speech took priority over anything else at that moment. If someone wants to use my coffeehouse and free WiFi as their business office I've no problem, but on my terms...(which of course include purchases!)
Cheers! Cell Phones should not affect the people around you.

What's really annoying is someone coming up to the counter to order while talking on their phone, and they continue talking on the phone holding up the line!
In our cafe we have a sign that say "no cell phones at the counter" so if you are talking at the register you don't exist and we move to the next person.
