Hey!
Anybody ever worked on a Royal #5?
I'm looking for a funky,old in-shop roaster and came across one of these...Any opinions/advice/warnings/w-h-y?
Thanks,

Funky and old don't necessarily make a good base to build a business upon. I prefer easy to work on, well supported and easy to get parts for. I would buy an Ambex. If I had it to do over. In fact they are working on a retrofit plan for burners and control system for my three year old roaster right now.
Ha ha, you're right. Thanks Jason.

The business already has its base. In-shop roasting was to be more of a curiosity for customers and as a device for staff to get familiar with systems.

SO you would not rely on the in shop roaster for your coffee production? If that was the case it would be cool to play with.
