Mystery Machine in La Marzocco booth at coffee fest?

I saw a strange espresso machine at coffee fest. The pump and boiler and pretty much everything were in an under-the-counter box with only a minimal grouphead stand above the counter. It looked like an old-fashioned soda fountain. Very sleek. There were about 50 people swarming around and inside the booth so I couldn't bear to stick around to find out due to my state of consciousness at the time.

Does anybody know anything about it?

That is the Jet Steam. I will be getting one of these! I think these are the future of espresso machines and THE best value around.

The Jet Steam machine is singularly the most beautiful espresso machine I've ever laid my eyes on. More than just a work of art, it's super-practical as it gives you more room on the counter, cleans it up, and makes the experience with the customer more personal. The first time I laid my eyes on this machine I was enamored. Plus, everything I've heard puts the quality of the espresso up there with the Slayer and Synesso.

really? isn't it single boiler? also seems like a long way for the hot water to go

It sure is a great looking machine however I thought is was funny seeing everyone trying it stoop over so they could use it. It was like 2 feet off the ground. I know it was a show display but in a shop the height is going to be an issue unless addressed by altering counter height.

Check out their website and your statement becomes false and your question answered. Dual PID controlled brew and steam boilers and actively electrically heated brew group.

They told me with my roaster/retailer discount it was 6500. The beautiful thing about this thing is it can be installed in nearly any bar top. Exciting. This thing took a huge bite out of my budget for the new cafe. Made a redic shot too might I add. Watch the steam boiler recovery video on their website. Very cool stuff.

lol not false, really, it was a question. just looked like one boiler in the pictures. where are they available from? the site doesn't have any news since 2007

The coffee fest display was a 1 group... anybody get any info on 2 or 3 groups?

Tom do you have one currently in service?

I didn't see anything other than 1 groups on their site, I really hope they make at least a 2 group I want one for our new shop.

From a fairly extensive perusal of their website it appears their approach is modularity and redundancy. Can be good things, especially redundancy. But their apparent current plan seems to define that as strictly multiple single group units. I'd tend to agree a two group would be beneficial since a single barista can in fact fully utilize two groups at times.

They're doing a 2 group, and I've been told a 3 group is possible in the 2 group by taking out the hot water spout.

My only concern is the drop from head to tray - down here in Australia 20oz cups are unheard of... This alone would likely drive me to another machine depending on the cost of a proper mod to lower it all.
