Ben Helfen, from Octane in Atlanta, has created his version of a Chemex video... I never realized that I was doing this all wrong! LOL

The funniest thing I have ever seen about coffee. Just loved it.

I suggest a daily viewing for those who take their coffee "a little too seriously". You know who you are. (No offense intended, just a further attempt at humor).

Ron, the Country Guy

I can picture in my mind a companion piece for making wine. Of course, it would have to include the scene of Lucy stomping grapes in the wood(?) tub with her bare feet.
This has been posted to BoingBoing as well. Some of the comments there are hilarious!
HILARIOUS! I was watching this at work with no sound, so I didn't realize it was a joke until the "seasoning of the filter". Then I just went "wtf????" and laughed and laughed throughout. Great video! I'll be sharing it a bunch!
I laughed afterward, but even up through the hand-sorting, I was taking mental notes.

... and seasoning doesn't seem TOO crazy, right? Right?

You'll find quite a few promoters of seasoning cloth filters, reusing aeropress filters, etc. So yeah... this is not totally unbelievable. Many of these steps have roots in oft-promoted techniques and theories. That's what makes it so funny.
That.... Was.... Amazing.... A little over the top? Maybe.... Something I will talk about tomorrow? Definitely!!
Ps... Hand sorting is really a good idea... just saying...

What is really funny on the BoingBoing site is how some people think this is serious. I mean, I know that it is sometimes challenging to interpret the tone of the commenter: is he serious, sarcastic, offended...

Here on BX, we tend to be true coffee geeks, and let's face it, we sometimes go to great lengths to brew a cup of coffee. But waiting 3 weeks? Not gonna happen.

So comments are rushing in, picking out the discrepancies (tap water, etc.), and the coffee snobs there are harrumphing and waving their "I'm Better Than You" flags, and the Ditzes are like, "Why, when you can just go to Dunkin'?"

Now....if y'all will excuse me, I am going to go shove some Finca Nueva Armenia down my cat's throat, since I don't have a civet....
