Moving to Madison!
Hello all, I'm moving to Madison around July and I was just curious if anybody new of any good shops to apply to or if any of you out there would like to give me a chance because right now I'm at a Barnes and Noble cafe and really don't want to work at one out in Madison. I want to get back to the real coffee life and learn more than I can concieve. so if anybody out there can help me get a foot in the door out there that would much appreciated! Sorry I don't want to sound all beggy and I know i'm probably going to have to do alot of foot work but any help at all would be wonderfull!

Definitely try ancora. I'm the manager at the University Store and I'm always looking for coffee geeks who want a future in coffee. My store is tiny, but that gives us more of a chance to experiment and try new things than the other two stores. I love geeking out so come on in and ask for me!
Bradbury's is definitely the best shop in Madison though. They usually only hire people with a lot of experience, and most of them are Ancora alumni, so it may be hard to get an "in" there. They have a nice Synesso and do single origin espressos, which is really cool to see. Plus their crepes are AWESOME!! Worth a shot anyways.
Also try Manna Cafe and Bakery. Look for Trevor Gruehn on here, he's the head barista. They use Johnson Bros coffee, but do a really nice job with it. They have a GB5, which is always fun to see.
