With the season of Coffee Fests on top of us I was wondering if such a thing could be possible. The idea sounds difficult to organize but in this business difficult issues are only challange's unresolved.

What do you think Matt. Doable?

I plan to find a likely spot in the MPLS Coffee Fest where folks might meet others from online forums. My thought would be that anyone looking for someone would stop at that spot on the hour of the clock. Until I receive my materials from the event, I won't know where would be out of the way and accessible to all! Meeting hall usage changes from event to event.

PS, Matt would you consider setting one up??
Hey guys, I'll try to think of a good option for coffee fest MN. A party may be in order .... :)

Hey Richard,

Check out this link for the meet up in MN. Matt had posted this a couple days ago about a party.

See you there!

Thanks for the update, I missed the post. I would still like to find a meet spot at the venue. I may be able to post from there if I find a quiet corner.

Parking regulation warning.. According to a local news program; The city of Minneapolis has some rules on the books which may cost you money if you are not careful.
When you park, indoors or out, they may fine you a significant amount of money for parking upon or over a parking space demarcation line; those white lines on the pavement! That includes the ones defining bike lanes in the downtown area.
Good to know! Thank you.

I missed the party but I did meet a couple of the folks from the group and a couple old friends competing in the Barista challenge. I was away from my computer for a couple days so was unable to pass on the spot I found for meetings.

I am getting to normal from two days at the Coffee Fest. I are vibrating like a lard buttered ten penny nail smacked with a greasy ball pein hammer!

Mypressi Twist and an electric steamer worked for me at my lodgings. Nice night cap! Others had Bacchis.

Folks were having their problems with the machinery. The show is more for persons having shops and stores than gear heads. A great many roasters, specialty food and container purveyors were there. The machinery service folks were out in force trying to dial in machines for the folks presenting various roasts and blends. Most of the machines were un-usually running on vibe pump type Flo-jets and water bottles. Not a happy scene for "The latest and greatest, super computerized machines." And... the voltage on the show floor did not appear very stable. This in stark contrast to the SCAA event there a few years ago, the SCAA had a complete water system brought in to give stable and clean water pressure to the entire show floor.

Unadulterated plug.. Terry Z. of Espresso Parts had a 3 hour seminar on Espresso machine care and " Maintenance." I learned a few!! things which I did not know and some that had only heard about. But for those who have a high buck home kitchen heater that also makes occasional great espresso the cost of the course wherever presented is worth the cost. It would be a great course for shop owners, lead Baristas and bar backs.
If there is a Coffee Fest in your area, It would be a worthwhile place to visit especially if you are a shop owner or Barista.

Once I am able to get some sleep I may have more to say.
shut my mouth!
