If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
yes
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I own and operate a moderately busy independent coffee shop. I have competed in the Mid-Atlantic Barista competition twice, placing seventh out of seventeen this past year (2007). I think I am reasonably skilled at making espresso drinks, and can pour some form of recognizable latte art on most drinks I serve.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Anywhere, literally.
About Me:
I am a devout local-vore, I try to follow a "100 Mile" diet, eating mostly organic food produced locally. I love bicycles. I'm married and have one obnoxious dog.
About My Company:
It's a small coffee shop in a small city next to a small college!
thank you for coming by and thanks for the coffee. we're almost out of espresso already so im sure we'll be pulling shots with your spro sometime tomorrow.
Hi Troy, Gordon in near Pottsville Pa. Yes I would def. be interested in going. I clicked on the website for your coffeehouse ... I will try to make it there to check it out. Easton is near Allentown ? Right ?
Pleasure to meet your acquaintance. 99% of my family lives in/around York, PA area and for that reason I am amused to meet others from that area. Thanks for the invite!
I can't wait to see the connections that will happen at the jam - young guns swapping shots with some wise visionaries: Scott Rao with his new book The Professional Barista's Handbook and Larry Bourgeois, Third Place living legend.
The quality of coffee will only be surpassed by that of the company.
Yeah you are!!! Very cool I love it!!! That's dedication! Well its nice to meet you! I don't have any cool tattoos! :(
So - where did you learn to do latte art and competitions?
Hey troy!
Thanks for the kind words. I always look forward to seeing you around at events and it was great this past weekend. We're having a little party at Aldo this friday night and we're featuring your bike blend next to our espresso with proceeds from the evening going to bikes for rawanda. Thought you might like that. hope you're enjoying life back at the shop. Talk to you again.....
Hey, i got your friend request. I see you on everyone else's friend page. Who the heck are ya? Incidentally, is Easton very close to Altoona? I'm related to half of Altoona but haven't been in about 10 years.
Hey Hey Hey ... The Barista Jam is coming soon .... YEeeeeHaaa ... I'm ready for it !!! ... and I finally have my voice back ... unlike in D.C. .. See you later buddy !!!
The name we are focusing on is CremaLove !!! .. Hey i have a question ... Will any information be mailed to us about the jam ... or do we just show up ... we are unable to be there for wed. but thurs. and fri. we will .
hi troy i wanna be your friend and change info because i love the aromatic , we are the first coffeshop with art latte in veracruz mexico, i know some about roaster and like a barista i have a year.
Troy - you did good! Still a couple bucks to come - we're using some of the bounty coffee from the jam to raise what we can for BTR this weekend. Will send whatever we get from selling Hornall's brew and the Aficianado Daryn gave us.
If we make enough, we might even start a single malt fund for Mr. Lewis...
Loved the jam. Couldn't have imagined it going any better. Great, great job.
Also, my father in law asked me what was so hard about making coffee for three days. I told him "you try making 120 gallons of coffee.......2 oz at a time."
I miss you already troy. The jam was a huge success! I learned soooo much and can't wait till next year. You better drag yourself down to Park slope next time you're in Brooklyn.
