Barefoot Coffee Roasters, Santa Clara, United States
How many years have you been in the industry?
10+
If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
yes
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
Hopefully, my aptitude is as large as my ego. You be the judge. Let's trade some shifts.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
You name it!
About Me:
I yearn to learn
About My Company:
Every day I deal with fanatics! Freaks for the cause and the cause is coffee.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
It's like the island of misfit toys. Most of us can't find a home anywhere else. Be you Steve In The Box or a Polka Dotted elephant..... I love you all!
just wanted to say sup.
im still quite unsure if im going to be able to participate in the regionals let alone nationals.
its a bummer when your "interests" look like an illegal cock-fight in mexico.
you know, the ones you used to throw in your basement in modesto.
I'm down on the smoking thing, but its only right everyone can see that I'm a sensitive sensitive man. P.S. I owe you huge for the intro the other night...
Whats new? We got some things in the works as always. And in my world I always try to live by the function before form rules. Ideally both should work together eh?
My momma' loves me Serrano... Don't you worry. Don't make me have to throw down twice as hard at the Western. Berkley isn't big enough for the kinda smack down we're ready to bring...
no regionals for me this year. *top secret..kinda* might be going to a new region. if i do competition is def. in my future. I'll know in a few weeks. Coffee Mafia represent all up in yo Yay Area!
Last October, and No I really did not spend anytime in Flagstaff just drove through. My brother in law lives in Mormon Lake just outside of town, spent time there but not a ton of amazing coffee choices in that area. Year's ago I stopped by Macy's and Late For The Train in Flagg.
Sup Serrano, I cant make it over the hill to later in the day on tuesday... damn makeup midterm at 10am. Ill try and catch the last part of it, gotta talk to Nate Tuesday. Hit me up today if you can, got some shit to fill you in on.
Hey, thanks for the invite, Tony. This is my first online community experience, so I'm pretty stoked. I love that I can talk to peers even though I'm so isolated out here in the pacific.
Cupping Yea, definite possibility. What about a mini class. When you coming anyway, I should probably know that for starters, yo. I told Andy today that Sunday would be the best day for sure...we have an employee meeting already scheduled for Sunday at 3:00...Call me up, let's plan. "Fail to plan"..."plan to fail"
What up wrangla! Thanks for the training. See you soon in your house though! Can't wait for some of that love at Barefoot Coffee... Can I borrow your Scace to check out that Linea?
Reasons I am not competing in the Western Regionals:
1. As a small business owner, I can no longer afford to leave the Pacific. I would have to work while there, and, as they say, pimpin' ain't easy.
2. Stage fright: the performance makes me want to hurl. I'm trying to get over this by losing bets and having to sing at Open Mic, but I bring a bucket with me.
3. Do I really need to prove myself? I have a whole island salivating already.
4. Will you be competing, Kimo Sabe?
Things are going very well so far. It is our first full month in OKC and we are still getting used to the coffee climate in this part of the world - not quite what is was in Bozeman, MT or the NW but we are excited by the challenge.
I will let you know about coffee and espresso. We are in the middle of figuring our what the hell we are doing with that right now.
Its been weird getting back into the swing of things, that's for sure, but I HAVE noticed that all of my drinks have been much better (trip rosettas and shit), but other than that, its been a relief.
Oh.
And there's been babes. LOTS of babes.
I can show you tapwerks, but the flaming lips must have been put in while I was gone. we got some bags in the mail, I hope you can explain what those are about.
Yeah dude if you wanna come into mikes i could hook you up with a veinti sugarfree decaf non-fat blended vanilla frappe with extra whip....... no charge
p.s. i could also add chocolate and caramel drizzle in the cup and on the whip
Tony - great seeing you in Oklahoma City. I hope you enjoyed your stay. Sorry we did not hook up for more coffee/espresso/etc while you were here - Evoke had a crazy busy weekend.
And I had so much fun with y'all! It was such an honor to talk shop, coffee, and just bull shit with you. Thanks for everything. I hope to run into you guys soon. Let me know if you want me to come out and be a bar back! :) Take care.
