ThatPete! We all missed you at the MWRBC. Hope you are well and going to be at USBC!
  • Peter Middlecamp

Thanks Pete. My brother passed away from cancer in January, and his care since his diagnosis was our family's top priority. I am excited to compete and see everyone again, and hoping to honor his memory and love of coffee by continuing to serve and compete.
  • Jeff Taylor

    Peter,
I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. We are all eager to see you get back in the competition. I'm sure you'll make your brother proud.
  • )on Lewis

The further I journey and the more I encounter birthing and passing, the more I realize my interdependence... a difficult but essential place to be. I look forward to seeing your story playing out - making coffee for all the right reasons, and I know our paths will cross down the road.
  • Ingibjörg Jóna Sigurðardóttir

    Hey Peter!
    What´s up?

    Hugs from Iceland :)
  • Mike Strumpf

Thanks Peter! I look forward to seeing you at the competition in May and I hope you're able to have a repeat of last year if you go forward with competing at the USBC this year.
  • Kevin Selig

    Peter,
Thanks for the invite and the interest in a local B-Jam. I am still working out the details and will announce them soon, I hope!!
    Have a great week!
  • mike perry

    Welcome,
Are you competing in your hometown this year?
  • scott conary

    Hey Peter;
    Good to see you here!
  • Peter Middlecamp

Hey Mike- Yes I think so. That is if Scott says it's O.K.
  • David Black

    Hey Peter, Salutations.
Good to see you here. nice pics. Love the BSCC and tell people as often as possible about it.
  • Ingibjörg Jóna Sigurðardóttir

Heiii, that´s grait. Have him contact me when he get´s here.
  • Aaron Duckworth

Hmm. Doesn't work quite as well as a profile pic, but we'll let the little fella ride aound for a bit. Thanks! You guys still using Paradise? Good stuff, that. When I had my place, if we had ever wanted to switch away from PT's (not sure why anyone would want to), Nectar de Meza would have been on the short list. I'm sure Black Sheep will get some extra traffic in early May. I know I'll have a van full of folks from KC who will need a few shots.

Truly sorry to hear about your brother, man.
  • Joe Marrocco

I kept seeing a snowy hydrant all over the place, so I followed it here. I have been going through your photos over and over. They are really quite stunning. Thanks for posting them. Then I saw that both Duck and )on have commented on your page. Between them and your affinity for the synesso, you seem to be a pretty good guy to contact. So, hello from Missouri. I hope all is well.
  • Peter Middlecamp

Thanks Jack. I've certainly appreciated your columns and helpful feedback over these last two years. See you soon.
  • Andy Newbom

peter! howdy and hows the snow? You are competing at USBC I assume? see you there@
  • Peter Middlecamp

The snow has melted, at last. See you in a few weeks!
  • Jill

  • Kevin Selig

    Hey Peter,
I am going to host another Barista Jam here in Mpls at our Upper Midwest Facility and would love to have your expertise and exprience offered to the other if you can make it. The date is Thursday, April 17th. I am sending out an official invite later today through this Barista Exchange site but wanted to give you a heads up first. I would also take any assistance you wish to offer with the Jam. I held one back in December of 07 that went quite well, so I am not starting from scratch.
Let me know if you and anyone else on staff at your cafe can attend. I want to keep the numbers down to 25 or less baristas.
    Thanks, Kevin, UMG
  • Peter Middlecamp

Great Idea Kevin. We'll definitely bring a contingent.
  • Fede Cabrera

    Thanks for your message.
If I make it to Copenhagen as the barista for Argentine, I´m planning to travel one week in advance (just in case) ... but if I don´t I´ll make a brief trip through the Nordic countries, and will be great too.

I hope to meet you there!
  • Shawn

I stopped by your shop the other day and was more than impressed with my cappuccino. Your tallish, skinny, messy browned-haired, male barista walked me through your espressos and made a helluva drink. He even checked up on my ladyfriend's espresso a minute after it was served. Very nice.
  • Andy Newbom

Peter: well be seeing you soon at SCAA! woohoo!

Peter - would you happen to have any photos from your coffee pairings menu? We could use a different photo for the coffee culinaria group.
  • Eric Faust

    Pete:
Atlanta was a blast, I learned a lot about the Aurelia. I was at the shop last night cupping, the coffee is on its way. I am looking forward to trying the new S.O. Costa Rica espresso. The La Montana will be fun as well. Keep the passion alive.
