Hey Frank! Awesome to see you here. It was great to actually judge with you this time! I hope to see you at the USBC. You are a great judge :) In the mean time you should join my group- Midwest Region Coffee Nerds. Let's show the rest of the US the power of numbers!!!!

    Hello,

I believe that we met a while back in Cape Girardeau. I am the chef of Celebrations Restaurant. When did you do the switch?
  • Mike Strumpf

Thank you for coming out and making the MRBC go off without a hitch. I'll be judging at the USBC, hopefully you will be too and maybe we can be on the same side of the table. Thanks for everything this weekend.

Frank - great to meet you and pleasure to serve you. Congrats on your kid-to-be... I'm sure our paths will cross (maybe when I take the truck on its nationwide tour).
  • David

Wow, how my life is going to change now that i have found baristaexchange. Don't forget tomorrow night is the stl green party.
  • Mike Strumpf

Hugo isn't on the exchange, but you can ask me the question on here and I'll pass it along or e-mail me and I'll pass you his address. You know how he likes to talk cheese...
  • Alex

frank! had two delicious meals at woodberry....going to NC to pick up Chad tomorrow. once again Fitterling has beat us to the punch: he is the first person to have a picture of a CAN of Bud on his BX photo! ha ha ha!!!!!!
  • Chris/Dale

it was good hangin out with yall yesterday at the shop.

Will have to do it again soon .
  • Mike Strumpf

Haven't ever been to Starry nights, so I'm not sure. They use Coda coffee (Tim Thwaites was one of the judges at MRBC, don't know if you judged by them) and were probably trained well- just don't know if any of it would have stuck with her. Sorry that I don't know more...

    Hey Frank,

The move went about as good as it could I guess. I will be up here for a couple of months by myself, then my family will be able to join me. My first day at Zoka is tomorrow. I will be blogging and taking pictures sometime soon if you are interested. Thanks for saying hey. Let me know how Dale is doing when you get a chance.
  • Chris/Dale

Frank, the rumors are true... Trish hired me full time as a barista for the crescent (an offer I couldn't refuse) this sat. is my last day at Graces...sad day. No more of those amazing omelets for me...I'm headed for crepe country.

And now back to apartment shopping, and the migraines that go with it.
  • Michelle Campbell

    Hi Frank,
Great to hear from you. Yes, it's official - Kaldi's will be hosting the MWRBC. Which I'm THRILLED about. I'm still working out the details for the NERBC, but I will email you as soon as the details become concrete.
  • Holly

I'm still waiting to hear myself. I just wanted to make sure you threw your hat in even if you didn't have all the pre-req's. You just never know :) All you have to do now is what I'm doing....sit and wait :)
  • )on Lewis

Likewise - I only wish there was more time for more beer and more conversation. Thanks again for putting together a stellar jam. I will be following your career as a preeminent judge... future plans are very hope-full here.
  • Mike Strumpf

Yeah, it was great to hang out with you two. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing you guys again soon. Hope the baby was happy to see you on Saturday!
  • Ted Stachura

Good meeting you too. Yes, I'm looking forward to cupping some of your coffees soon. Here's a like to the Coffee Review cupping calendar - http://www.coffeereview.com/calendar.cfm - It will be updated for 2009 sometime next week.

Good to hang with you again, even with all the pressure....see you out at the MWRBC!
  • Mike Strumpf

Hey Frank- do you know of anyone who is interested in having me, Hugo, and another person from Allegro crash at their place for the MWRBC? We're going to come out and judge!
  • DeWayne

Hey Frank, I am still on here often enough. What can I help ya with?
  • Mike Strumpf

We should be getting in Thursday night, and there are 3 of us. If it doesn't work out it's not the end of the world.
  • Mike Strumpf

awesome! we can talk more about it next week when you're out.
  • Holly

    Hey Frank,

I had to unfortunately cancel on the mountain. We are in the midst of hiring a new customer service person and between training them and everything else I can't leave in good conscience. I will be at the Western and the MW :)
  • Scott Bruggman

Frank it was great meeting all of you guys too. I will defintally keep you posted on my ETA to St. Louis. I printed a bunch of Choco. Wheels to bring to the comp for everyone. Super stoked to come out there and check out the St. Louie coffee scene.
  • Mike Strumpf

I think everything (except some sponsorship stuff) is all settled and it feels great. We're going to get in Wednesday night because we need to be there for calibration on Thursday. Josh said to give him a call when we get near St. Louis. And just send the list of beers and we'll bring them.
