Kansas - Middle America and spreading the word of great coffee!
How many years have you been in the industry?
Unbelievably - 15 years....Feels like yesterday!
If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
maybe
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
PTs Coffee Roasting Co. as a fully equipped training facility and full-time trainer with two part-time trainers on staff. We've placed two in the top three of seven straight midwest regional barista competitions and taken first place 4 (whoops - make that 5) times. More importantly, we are still looking to improve.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
About Me:
Hello, I'm Jeff....I'm addicted to coffee!
About My Company:
We have a 15-year history of developing well-trained, passionate baristas and roasting great coffee to produce excellent espresso, two very important components of a great coffee house.
We source our coffees in the country of origin and work directly with farmers to improve their lives. We visit them yearly, often times taking customers with us to origin, and pay extraordinary prices for extraordinary coffees. We partner with producers that do an outstanding job. We don't just buy coffee from them, we work with them, it's a team effort - from the seed to the cup!
As a Roaster / Wholesaler, PT's Coffee Roasting Co. sells virtually everything a business needs to open a coffeehouse. Top of the line espresso machines (La Marzocco, Nuova Simonelli, Astoria), drip brewers (Fetco, Clover), panini grills, Torani Italian Flavorings, 1883 and Monin syrup, Ghirardelli Chocolate, Numi and Harney and Son's tea and much more.
Come join our growing team of coffee professionals as we explore the world in search of the best coffee and products. We look forward to working with you and helping your coffee venture become a success!
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
My performance went alright, Had i brought my own grinder then i would of been happier about it.
Everything went well though, I'm glad i got to compete to see and know what it's all about and all the hard work that's put into it.
Thanks for evrything!
The Jerry the Dog video is pretty cool. Someone sent me that video a while back. Everyone in our Dachshund Rescue group wants one of those machines. How are you doing?
Jeff
I agree, I will try to get more involved in barista competitions and coffee trade shows for seeing special friends like you. Good luck with your inventory. Besos, see you soon
I don´t know why my picture says Laura!! ...I´ll tried to change everything under my name, she was in charge of this profile when she was working in Ramacafe, but she´s not longer with us!
Well, I hope that you don´t have any conflict with your schedule and I hope that you can assist to our event!
Then you´re bidding on the COE? Good Luck!!
Listen, I don´t have any idea why my picture appears with Laura´s name! I made all the changes on the page! ...anyways, the important thing is that you know that I´m in charge of this profile (Ramacafe) and that you can count with me any time you need it!
Crawling out of my metaphorical cave into the Barisata Exchange universe. Ecstatic to join in with all of our friends ! Nice to hear from you . Look forward to catching up soon . Yes , Copenhagen is calling ! Hope all is well .

Jeff!!
Yes I'm fine, indeed I'm happy! This week has been the selection of baristas that are going to compete on September...You are going to be surprised, those guys are not the same to those you once knew in Mexico, they are really improving!!!! How are you? A hug for you.
Greetings from Michigan. It has taken an old newspaper dinosaur a long time to find such a cool thing as the online exchange. Just wanted to say hi from one old photog to another. We are still considering making a switch - but realistically we are a couple years away. We did pitch a second location idea - if anything comes of that we'll definitely give you a call.
Hey Jeff! Sorry, actually I did see the article, I just haven't had a chance to read it yet. My boss at Press knows about PT's but is going with a local roaster I believe. He has a page here on BE if you want to look him up!
I remember driving through Kansas when I went there for a wedding with my boyfriend many years ago (my mom was horrified!). Driving thru Kansas at one point I remember smelling coffee everywhere. I knew there had to be a roaster somewhere. Probably the only memory I have of that trip!!!! I don't even know where in Kansas I was - oops!
Sorry we weren't able to hook up. I'll be out of town for the thanksgiving weekend, and then again at the end of December, I'll be in and out during the last couple weeks of December, but I'm around during the rest of the time leading up to a mid-January opening. I'm looking forward to meeting in person!
I/we (Goshen crew) Def. plan on making out your way soon. Wish I could have made time when I was out your way not to long ago, but you know how it goes sometimes. Hope everything is well!
Hey Jeff. Sorry I wasn't able to catch up with you in Portland last week... but I hear you and my dad had some fun at ABCs. Look forward to meeting you in the future.
Ha ha - Jeff, just noticed the remark about Nikon on the Journalist group. Yes it was four months ago ... it was the only thing I could think of at the time. Used Nikon all my life - but when the newspaper actually purchased equipment for us I lobbied hard for Canon. Back in the day I was willing to switch to the backward focus(er). Anyway hope all is well. Dan
