Gidday Victor. Penang is one of my favorite cities not only in Malaysia, but through all of Asia. A well kept secret...shhhhhhh! Hoping I may be up that way next month- parents are in town and want to go across to Malaysia.
Im a new barista, I work at Starbucks. I also new in barista exchange, i love coffee very much. If u have some knowledge that U want to share. Im willing to listen thx. I want to learn more about coffee, everything. Any suggest where can I get it?
there is no training course in here, i study from the store that i work and from the internet. If i came to Malaysia i will visit you, r u in KL? I want to migrate to KL to works in Starbucks, but they say i need PR. Is that true?
IMHO its over hyped in the extreme. Not only is it not as rare as sellers are lead to believe, more often than not its not 100% pure kopi luwak, and its robusta not arabica. The luwak itself is an omnivore, so on occasions the cup with contain gamey, feral accents that I find quite unpleasant (mainly because my sub-concious knows its the taste of a digested egg or mouse!). Although I can easily get my hands on buckets of the stuff, I am not keen on either rosting or selling a product I do not enjoy or believe in. I will leave that to the many willing to take up the cause for a buck (or a hundred!)
okay I will if I got some day enough to spare. do u know where can I buy online the coffee bean? But I want a good quality of arabica but cheap, is that possible?
Thanks Victor, just lucky to be at the right place at the right time to get the photo. Just got back from Singapore and Malaysia. Only got up as far as Malacca this time, Penang for sure next time around!!
Indeed I did try the local Kopitiam coffees- as well as Malay white coffee. Most of the local coffees are robusta of course, but despite that they are OK and interesting to drink. Saw some local wok cooked coffee, just add margarine to to process! Interesting!
hi Victor, how ru?
i actually submitted an enquiry to lighthouse coffee asking the address and dates on the training.
also the payment if im coming with a group.
no reply so far.
wish u could help.
regards from KL.
I've been searching for a coffee farm on Borneo and unfortunately I didn't find any yet. I didn't ask Matt Milletto yet but I see your based in Malaysia!
