If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
yes
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I own a small roasting operation the Twin Cities.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Chicago is where my roots are where my heart is so I'm always game to go home. Love the Mountain West and the PacNthwst. I want to experience coffee in Scandanavia first hand but Im drying to see how the rest of the world does it.
About Me:
I live my life one Cortado at a time. Everything in between is an afterthought.
About My Company:
Micro-batch coffee roasting and extremely competitive prices.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
The demographic lines coffee crosses is unbelievable. From hispster to CEO, when the two are standing next to each other waiting for their drink, they are not subject to the laws of social stratification.
Taking on the AZ coffee scene eh? I lived in Phoenix for a few years and worked for a company called Espressions Coffee Roasterie. The coffee scene needs guys like you! I moved from Phoenix a year ago and become Head Roaster at Anodyne! Small world huh?
I am a huge fan of Alterra! At the last Scaa show in Hotlanta, they had a single origin Honduran espresso that was remarkable. It was apparently some fluke find that was only like 60 lbs total. Yesterday, I was doing a demo at a Whole Foods in Bethesda, Md. and a woman asked me if I had ever heard of Alterra because she was such a huge fan. Small world indeed...
I am definitely interested... still sorting out logistics of move (Sept first date is firm, housing and employment are being negotiated). I will keep you posted as my plans materialize... what style of competition?
Thanks for the comment. I'm really excited to be moving to AZ. We have almost nailed down our arrangements in Sedona. If you want to try another Pronto coffee, our Wondo is insane. Kenneth Davids gave it a 92. Its a really light roast with tons of rose and strawberries, it is an amazing example of "floral" notes.
My situation is unclear, I will be in Sedona as of Sept 1. I am not yet sure of employment in coffee. I may better serve as a judge in this competition, as I am not sure I will have access to practice. I have participated the MARBC (did mediocre) and volunteered at the WBC and MARBC, so my understanding of the competition criteria is clear. Lemme know.
Hey Tom, I stopped by the shop about 2 weeks ago. I really like what you guys where doing. Hey did you get to check out the Ghana Chocolate sauce I left??
Si Senor, I am living in the VOC (Sedona). I am doing a month of consulting (really working their bar until I get their staff trained) with Bell Rock Coffee (also in the VOC), who opened yesterday. I am generally on the bar their from 7-2 should you find yourself up here.
