Hey Lady! Sorry we missed you in Portland.. We will be stopping back by on Wednesday evening and I think we have plans for dinner with Billy. It would be awesome if you came along! Call Billy for the details because I don't know them.. :)
  • Nikki Arcieri

Rita! It's Nikki from Zoka! Do you remember me?! From last weekend? Anyway, it was good to talk with you and thank you so much for my glorious drink! Okay, and you guys should hire my friend Cory because he's a gem and would be a great barista.

    Have good days lady!

I think the tasting table options are pretty much endless, there are people obsessed with everything the way we freak about coffee. I've led a honey tasting, chocolate, nuts... check out my site, coffeerevelation.com! I try to write about all the tasting stuff that happens at Octane..
  • Silas Moulton

Wow, I never realized you have the same last name as my good friend Ben who is a Barista in Boston. He is a really good barista too. Anyway, I will hopfully stop by the press soon.
  • Brian Bergman

  • Ben Kaminsky

I agree, but there will be no name changing... Espresso death-match? Either that or we should just start a coffee consultation firm called kaminsky & kaminsky... (It does seem sad that one of us has to go; I literally dont know any other kaminskY's. That said, I'd like to keep in that way...)
  • Ben Kaminsky

    Nice things? About me? Unlikely...

As for portland 09, it's definitely a possibility. Actually, it's likely... Crash on your floor?

  • michael Phillips

dang lady, your to nice. It was a pleasure and then some to have your company. You know where to go for a cup the next time you come through Chicago....
  • Joshua Longsdorf

Of course I don't mind, I intended for it to create conversation. Hopefully it will fuel discussion in some smaller cafes that may not even be aware that there is a difference between commodity and non-commodity coffee. I think the hardest part is creating these discussion without the pretension, but if we can create curiosity in the consumer then they will ask questions of us.
A side note, looking at your picture and reading that you were once with Alterra I'm going to have to say that we met once when I was in with Vick.
  • Caleb Peterson

It was really nice to meet you! You should send me your address. I Would love to send some coffee. We just roasted up some coe costa rican.
  • Caleb Peterson

we just got our coe nicaragua in. so we are going to roast that up in november and do the coe costa rica as so espresso i'll send you a lbs of both in about a week. let me know what you think.
  • Caleb Peterson

So I just sent you some great coffee in the mail. The costa rican was roasted for spro. The the shop here we are pulling everything on lm tripple baskets. We tried the CR yesterday at 198 and was lacking a lot. Today we are pulling it at 201 and it is amazing. We are updosing to aroun. 21 or 22 grams and 24- 25 seconds at about an ounce and a half. A lot of that is crema becuase we are pulling on bottomless pf. Good luck and enjoy! If you have any questions the number is on the bag.
