What is your position in the coffee industry?

    barista, coffee enthusiast

Where are you located? ( City and Country )

    Philadelphia!

How many years have you been in the industry?

    3

If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?

    maybe

Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.

Caffe Amadeus in Indiana, PA, was my first coffee home during college. We roasted our coffee at the shop, and I fell in love. After a year of learning the skills from the wonderful Szep family, I moved to Scranton, my hometown, to take a job at a newspaper. I couldn't bear to quit coffee, so I started working at THE place to be in downtown Scranton -- Northern Light Espresso Bar, which serves Gimme! Coffee. I fell in love with espresso at NLEB and even more in love with my co-workers. A little more than a year later, I wound up in another part of Pennsylvania: Philadelphia. I was lucky to land full-time work at Spruce Street Espresso, and now I get to serve awesome Counter Culture coffee with more awesome co-baristas. And now I'm just simply in love with what I do. :)

What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?

    Portland or bust.

    About Me:

I love print media, DIY, Polaroid film, spicy food and record collecting almost as I much coffee. If you asked me three years ago if I would be putting my life "on hold," to play with coffee all day long, I would've thought you were crazy. Now I can't imagine it any other way.

    About My Company:

Spruce Street Espresso is a tiny, quaint -- but great -- shop in the Gayborhood. We serve Counter Culture coffee as a pour over or French press. The 'spro kicks butt and all the ladies who work there are Philly TNT winners. Come see why. We have a blog, and sometimes I write on it: www.sprucestespresso.wordpress.com

What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?

    community!
