I began as a "barista" at a Starbucks on the corner of Craig St in Pittsburgh while attending school at Pitt studying English Lit. It, the experience at SBux, was awesome. The coffee not so much. At the time we were rocking mazzers and big ol 4 group Linea. So there. Jump forward a few years, I'm here in Raleigh NC. I dipped my feet in the specialty coffee world working for a smaller local roaster. Got burnt out on that and instead of giving in, decided to jump in deeper and am now the sales director for another, smaller, local roaster, Joe Van Gogh, having a blast, making friends, drinking boatloads of great coffee.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
everywhere. But mostly return trips to Chicago and NYC. Will hit the PNW someday soon!
About Me:
I love coffee but it is not my "passion". I'm passionate about my wife, my dog, and music. Coffee however, is an amazing thing and I love it and all the people dedicated to the craft from the farmers, pickers, millers, exporters, importers, roasters, baristas, and my mom at home, still rocking the same melitta cone that she has been for the past 50 years before any of you pourover freaks knew anything. hahaha!
About My Company:
www.joevangogh.com Joe Van Gogh makes the coffee bean our canvas and your palate our exhibition space. Before the phrase "artisanal" was attached to coffee roasting, before it was part of our marketing-saturated daily lexicon, our coffee roasters were learning their craft in a coffeehouse, 12 pounds at a time. Ever since, for more than 15 years, we've roasted coffee every day, quietly developing the skill and touch, the taste and savvy to make masterpieces of the world's finest coffees one batch, one cup, one shot at a time. Joe Van Gogh operates coffee shops in Durham and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We roast all our coffee at our production headquarters in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Our fresh roasted coffee is also available at many restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, and grocery stores in North Carolina.
