If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
maybe

I live on the east coast of Canada with my wife Beverly.
We raised three kids... been blessed with two grand-children.
We have one dog and two cats
I grew up in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada with my sister Evelyn living in our parents home.
Evelyn my wiser and older sister lives in Scarborough. She's the editor of the Thursday File
Our small family moved to the east coast in October, 1988, when I took a job at Co-op Atlantic as Art/Creative Director, then after 13 years with the company I started working on my own from my home studio.
I paint in Watercolour, I publish the 'Thursday File'
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
thanks for the welcoming message. Great to meet another coffee enthusiats, remember to keep the freshest coffee brewing... still looking for the top rated coffee from worldwide to fulfill my dream~
Unfortunately i'm not a wonderful morning person, so i try to keep my words to myself until around noon. The whole If you have nothing nice to say mantra right? Well i'm off to my shop to set up christmas decorations and make myself a cappuccino and practice my latte art. Have a great weekend too!
Aloha from Honolulou, Hawaii Steve! Our Cafe, Downtown Coffee, donates money every month to "Coffee Kids". After joining, they sent us a mug and various info. brochures on what they are all about. I love drinking with the mug... makes me feel awesome!
Thanks Steve. I signed up here mostly so I could read my friend Von's blog while he's away in South Africa. He's the owner of Bisogno, my favourite coffee shop. Check him out (Von Flores). And stop by the cafe next time you're in Toronto. :-)
Thanks! Wow, talk about a whirl-wind weekend. I have just worked 60 hours in the cafe since Friday night... just getting back to check this. I mentioned that I joined to a roaster that came to drop off a delivery to me at my second job and he was really happy to hear I'm getting more and more opportunities to explore what I love to do.
Hi Steve- thanks for the welcome! Coffee culture is just awakening in SA but we're getting there! I'll try to ad a bit of our local perspective to your online community. I'm sure to learn tonnes from "old hands" & hope to cross polinate that into our neck of the woods.
Hi Steve- Thanks for the welcome- I needed to get with the program here for a while, I couldn't go to another CoffeeFest and have Bruce Milleto ask me again if I'd joined yet. Love the "Pirate drinking Coffee" pic you've got there.......
Hello, Steve. Thank you for your comment. I'm working as an international intern at a cafe in Seattle. I'm studying about coffee and improving my English there. I'm an infant barista!
Steve.... thanks for the contact earlier. Went to your Thursday site and enjoyed both the graphics and content. At a tradeshow a couple years back, I was standing in a neighboring booth with a friend who's from Vancouver, BC. A woman comes up to us, looks at his badge with name and company location, and in all seriousness, asks him; "So...you're from Canada, eh? You speak Canadian, right?" I started to laugh, but when I saw she was serious, broke in and said, "Well, yes, he does, but I can translate if that'll help?" Soooooooo, and seriously, you DO speak Canadian, right?
hello from australia.
You've got the chance in Canada to find this soft splendid doi chaang coffee,i try hard to introduce that in oz..
Thank again for this warm welcome
I know, right? ...it was abusurd for her to even ask about the speaking of a "Canadian" language, especially when she didn't even ask about any specific dialect in BC........ DUH?!!
No problem...we got our first snow in Seattle last night, perfect "Irish" coffee weather...I'm guessing that snow is no big deal in the Great White North?
Hey Steve, just wondering, do you know of any good coffee shops in Quebec City? My husband and I are visiting Quebec for Christmas with some friends. Always nice to find a good local shop. Thanks.
thanks for the welcome steve, Ironically we happen to be semi countrymen as I am originally from Sudbury, Ontario. Its 17 below zero in south dakota right now I hope your staying warm
